The Weeping Willow

When you lose something
Or someone
That’s been part of you
Or yours
For a long time,
You don’t weep over
The monetary loss
The worldly, materialistic aspect
All those achievements
And possible opportunities
Lost by that person
Or by you.
You weep because
Of that unexplainable
Of longing
Of regret
Of sadness
It’s just there
Whenever you lose something
So precious;
That treasure
Those memories
It contained
Or he or she shared
Over the years that
No money or gold
Could ever match.
